GoFigure is Coker’s Quality Enhancement Program. As an accredited institution, we are required to implement a new academic focus every 10 years. The focus of GoFigure is on quantitative literacy (connecting with numbers). I chaired the Marketing Committee, which was in charge of coming up with a name, slogan, and visual identity.

The logo hints at a figure eight without losing the letters “GO.” Knowing that many students have a phobia of math, our goal was to create a name and a visual identity that would seem fun, approachable, and appealing. The overall feedback has been very positive. Below is an example of one of the graphics we developed for a poster series showcasing how data can be translated into infographics.
